The ICS-2100 is an Intercom-System for two or three participants (depends on the configuration). It is optimally suited for communication within a work squad or brigade. Many such device pairs can operate in parallel without disrupting each other.
Work squads are usually found in
a) Maintenance teams in industrial plants
Most teams in an industrial environment work in close proximity to each other but the noise level is often so high that regular communication is extremely difficult. Walkie-Talkies require manual operation of buttons which is quite cumbersome when equipment has to be handled simultaneously. ICS-2100 is the optimal device for this purpose. It can be easily fastened to a helmet or a belt and provides for clear and undisrupted communication for around three hours continuously in a hands-free mode.
b) Squads of Fire brigades wearing gas-proof Chemical protective clothing
Communication between people wearing chemical protective clothing is quite cumbersome and not possible without an appropriate technical aid. While using ICS-2100 operation forces of fire brigade units can communicate without any hindrance. The regular 2m radio channel which is normally applicable in Germany for fire brigades remains free for important messages and control of respiratory protection.
The area of reach of the system is around 100m in an open field. The operating distance is lesser in rooms separated by walls. For the above mentioned applications where the squad members are within reach of each other the ICS-2100 provides a good compromise between emissions of radio waves and maximal distance of separation between two communicating parties.
Different accessories are available for use:
- Headset and microphone with special ambient noise reduction
- Neck microphone with earphones for the loudest of environments
- Aviator headsets with noise damping earlaps for fatigue-free application in industrial halls
The connection is constantly monitored and is automatically reestablished in case the speakers move into or out of the scope of the device. The volume may be comfortably adjusted using two buttons. Power is supplied to the device using a 9V battery.
The ICS-2100 ist not meant for usage in areas with danger of explosions.
